Mason's Library system is at the forefront of the academic research library community. Mason Square Library

Students sit in the Mason Square Library.

The Mason Square Library is home to:

  • nine study rooms designed for collaborative group work and studying
  • an Assistive Technology Room equipped with computers and specialized software applications for individuals with mobility, cognitive, visual, and hearing impairments
  • the Dissertation Writers' Room, containing three reservable study spaces for PhD students working on their dissertations
  • computers for student, faculty, and staff use, as well as two public visitor computers

The Mason Square Library is located on the second floor of Van Metre Hall.

Law Library

The Law Library is an academic research library with the goal of having legal research materials available for use within the library. It is not open to members of the public. Current Mason students, faculty, and staff may access the library with a valid GMU ID. GMU alumni and attorneys may access the library upon confirmation of their status and display of a current government-issued photo identification card.

John Burton Library

A discussion group works in the Burton Library.

The John Burton Library and Resource Center, with its dedicated focus on conflict analysis and resolution, provides the Carter School community information on the University, research services, study tools, Carter School archives, and rare sources from the Field. This private, donation-based library located at the heart of the Carter School in Mason Square, is a place where the community comes together to learn.
